My Go-To Makeup Products of 2017

Throughout all of skincare troubles and bad makeup situations, these products are somewhat of a holy grail to me. They're there to set the foundations of my look, when I need to do my makeup with 10 minutes because I'm in a rush, and just a look I'm comfortable with every single day—or at least the days I feel like trying.

tarte FRXXXN Stick Exfoliating Cleanser: This is hands down the best exfoliator I've tried on ever since late last year. I've had it for around 3-4 months now and I still haven't taken off that much of a noticeable chunk after using it almost every day.  It was gentle on my face when applying, but from the look and feel to my face after washing, it's as smooth as a baby's bottom! You can definitely tell it removed the majority of my dead skin. Another bonus: it brightens your complexion!! This product didn't break me out at all and I have sensitive but normal skin. I highly recommend it; even Sephora shows it's rated 4 and 1/2 stars.

CoverFX Clear Cover Invisible Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30: This  product is my lifesaver. Literally, it makes me want to put sunscreen on my face. It works as a great final step to my skincare and a primer to my face makeup. It's a little on the pricy side for such a small bottle, but I love it because of the matte feel it gives my face with a very small amount of sunscreen scent to it. Absolutely worth it, always going to be one of my holy grails!

Belif the True Cream Aqua Bomb: This technically isn't a new find for this year, but this is by far the best moisturizer I have ever used. It's a gel-cream moisturizer that looks and smells so good. It's incredibly hydrating and makes my skin look and feel super smooth and supple. It even helps minimize your pores and fix uneven textures. I have stuck to this moisturizer ever since I found it early in 2016 because it doesn't make me break out, I can literally feel the hydration that goes on when I use it, and it's oil-free which helps with my lash extensions.

The Estée Edit Radiance Activator Treat + Prep + Glow: This product is advertised as a three-in-one serum, where it preps, moisturizes, and gives off a nice radiant glow. I think this is one of the products that depends on the person to see whether they like it or not. Also, a very big factor with this specific serum is how people plan on using it. Personally, I use it with my every day skincare and makeup–yes, both every day makeup and days where I do a full face of glam. For my skincare routine and lazy makeup day, I use this as a great natural highlighter on the high points of my face. It's dewy and has the right amount of shimmer to make you look effortlessly radiant. On my full-face days, I typically prep my face with it before I load on my concealers and foundations. It contains a different and much thicker consistency compared to CoverFX custom enhancer drops–it is a cream/serum–but I believe it makes it less of a mess to use while still giving the same effect as the drops would. I love the cream texture to it, as it is a double-duty product for me with both skincare and makeup!

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20: On my laziest of lazy days, I realize I still need to wash my face and do some kind of skin ritual. On those days, especially when I need to run errands, I will wash my face with a cleanser and slap this on my face and make my way out. It is also super useful for the days your skin isn't cooperating with you but have a big event/occasion to go to. Even though it's just a moisturizer, it acts as a BB cream and helps even out discoloration and redness in your skin. It is closer to the high end side of makeup, but it's definitely a big tube that lasts a while–you get what you pay for.

Guerlain Meteorites Base Perfecting Pearls: I'm not sure if this is one of the best primers I've ever used, but I do believe it is worth a try (a sample, at the very least, since the price tag is INSANE). This primer actually gives me a nice glow from inside rather than straight glitter everywhere. It also promises color correcting effects, but I don't see it as much. I'm more of a fan of Guerlain's other primer, L'Or Pure Radiance Face Primer, since it focuses more on gold flecks rather than pink pearlescent shades, but that might just be because I have more of a warm-toned skin preference. However, I do believe–if you can actually drop that much–that this primer is worth it if you're aiming for a radiant, shimmery look.

Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder: This is hands-down, no doubt about it, my favorite bronzer in the world. It is super easy to use, there are around 7 or 8 shades to choose from (unlike Benefit's Hoola), and it takes a LOT of use to even come close to hitting the pan. I love this bronzer because of how easy it is to blend on your face and how pigmented just a few swipes can make. It's similar to the texture of the Too Faced Soleil Matte Bronzer minus the strong smell, so if you like the texture of that bronzer, you'll love this one.

Benefit Cosmetics Boi-ing Industrial-Strength Full Coverage Concealer: This is one of my favorite concealers because it has amazing coverage. I used to have problems with it staying on, but as long as I set it with a finishing powder its longevity is great. I wouldn't say it really is "industrial strength" but it does cover the redness of acne if you have minimal and tame pimples and spots that need covering up. I find the best way to use this to really cover acne is to dab it on with your finger and lightly spread it around with your finger before blending it in with a beauty sponge or stippling brush. Definitely one of my go-to concealers; it's small yet worth it for its quality and reasonable price (it's cheaper than my holy grail NARS creamy radiant concealer!).

NARS Radiant Creamy ConcealerAnd of course, I have to talk about my holy grail concealer; I typically have this concealer in two shades: one for my skin tone, and one for my under-eye. I really love this because of its consistency; it blends very well and has a whopping amount of coverage. Seriously, this baby covers my dark circles and eye bags as if they were never even there...every morning...for the past like ten years....LOL. The price is high for something so small, but this lasts me at least a solid 4 months of using every day, because you really only need a little product to cover a normal sized trouble area. I'm telling you, a little goes a long way!

tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Brow Mousse: This is without a doubt one of the three brow products I swear by. I know everyone is all about the ABH DIPBROW pomade, but I'm telling you right now, this one is even better. It even comes with a double ended brush with a spoolie and an an angled brow brush. This product really is waterproof! I could sweat all day, douse my head in an ice-cold water bucket, and my eyebrows would still be popping. It's easy to work with, and doesn't particularly smudge over time. I only use this when I want a look with fuller brows, though it has worked on the times I ran out of brow powder or my boy brow from Glossier and wanted to look natural. The only drawback however, could be the lack of shades/different colors.

NARS Blush - Goulue: This product is exclusively for VIB Rouge members on Sephora, and I'm still only using the sample size they gave out when my status was renewed. BUT, it is safe to say that I have been using this blush ever since I got it in around October, and for such a small compact, I have yet to get anywhere close to hitting the pan. Speaking from other shades of NARS blush however, I really do like the formula of the powder. It's really soft and super pigmented; all I need is maybe one or two swipes on both cheeks and my face looks rosy as ever. I know it's exclusive, but if you really want to try out this specific shade I know they sell it on Amazon, but I'm not sure the sample size is worth it. A few dupes that are really close to the shade (give or take pigmentation and shimmer) are the NYX Apricot powder blush and the Clinique Black Honey Pop Blush.

These are my go-to products and the ones I use on the daily! Hopefully this helped you out, and gave you a few suggestions.
